Jim was first introduced to the fire service when he participated in a high school co-op program with Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services. After high school Jim attended Seneca College’s School of Fire Protection Technician and Technologist programs where he graduated with high honors and the School of Mechanical & Fire Protection Technician Scholarship. Jim is also a graduate
of Centennial College Paramedic program. He has been in the fire protection industry for the last 19 years working in both the private and public sector. Jim currently works as a fire inspector and investigator with Regina Fire and Protective Services.

In addition to participating with CAFI as the Regional Director of Saskatchewan, Jim is a current voting member of the Standing Committee on Fire Protection. The standing committee is responsible for preparing recommendations for changes and technical
issues related to the National Building Code of Canada and the National Fire Code of Canada.
