Webinar: Dynamics of Slow Ignition Scenarios (Application of cigarettes to various fuels)
Presenters: Jason Williams and Michael Ross, Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management (Ontario)
Join Jason Williams and Michael Ross in a discussion of cigarettes and their application to multiple fuel sources. Smouldering vs. flaming combustion and the various data elements will also be referenced. The data presented is based on extensive research conducted by The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management (Ontario).
Mike Ross is a certified fire investigator (CFI) with the Office of the Fire Marshal and has been the lead CFI in over 600 fires. Mike currently holds both a Bachelor and Master Degrees in Fire Science, as well as a Graduate Certificate of Fire Investigation (with emphasis on Fire Dynamics and Modeling). Mike routinely develops training initiatives involving live-fire scenarios and testing of hypotheses through such demonstrations for the Office of the Fire Marshal and has lectured extensively at academic institutions (both in Canada and United States) and other training opportunities throughout the province.
Jason Williams has been an investigator with the OFMEM for 5 years. Previous to the OFMEM, Jason was an Investigator with the Ministry of Labour and prior to that with the Hamilton Police Service. Jason has lectured at the Ontario Police College and with the OFMEM in relation to BHO Investigations and other fires.
